CITY AND BUILDERS GROUP  DEDICATE RESURFACED BASKETBALL COURT

City officials led by Mayor Mufi Hannemann and members of the Building Industry Association of Hawaii will gather at Kalakaua District Park in Kalihi on Saturday, April 30, 2005, to dedicate the newly resurfaced basketball court.

The resurfacing work is being done by the contracting firm Applied Surfacing Technology, through the Building Industry Association of Hawaii. AST’s owner, Denny Sadowski, saw that the park’s outdoor basketball court was in disrepair and offered to resurface it at no charge to the City. The work was done over the past week.

The public is invited to attend the blessing and reopening ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30.  The Building Industry Association of Hawaii will provide free hot dogs and balloons.

Kalihi District Park is located at Kaumualii and McNeill streets, a block diamond-head of Kalihi Street, mauka of Dillingham Boulevard.
