MAYOR SIGNS JOINT DEVELOPMENT BILL AND CONDEMNATION RESOLUTION  

            Mayor Mufi Hannemann today (Tuesday, August 23, 2005) signed into law Bill 43, which provides for the transfer of development rights from a zoning lot in a business mixed use district with a historic site, building or structure to up to 10 others lots.

The previous limit for such transfers was four lots. The ordinance provides an incentive for preserving historic sites by allowing the transfer of development rights to other property.

The mayor also signed resolution 05-164, which provides for the City condemnation and acquisition of five parcels of land in Kalihi and Kalihi Kai for the Nimitz Highway sewer reconstruction project.
