MOTOR VEHICLE RECONSTRUCTION INSPECTIONS TO BE DONE BY APPOINTMENT

The public is advised that motor vehicle reconstruction inspections will be done by appointment effective February 1 to improve service and increase efficiency, the City Department of Customer Services announced today.

            Inspection hours will be extended from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily under the new appointment system.  Appointments can be scheduled by calling 733-2542.

            Reconstruction inspections are conducted at 1112 Kapahulu Avenue, under the overpass adjacent to the King Street, Waialae Avenue and Kapahulu Avenue intersection.  These inspections are required for vehicles that have been modified from the original manufacturers’ specifications.

            The new appointment system will double the hours of operation, eliminate waiting in line, and ensure prompt service at the scheduled time.
