City crews are working to stop a wastewater spill caused by a broken sewer line at
Roughly 20 gallons per minute of untreated wastewater is being spilled. About one-quarter of that, 5 gallons per minute, is entering the storm drain. Crews are at the site. It is unclear when the spill began.
The state Department of Health has been notified and pollution warning signs are being posted. Water quality sampling will be conducted to assess the impact of the spill. The public is advised to avoid the affected areas.
