ROAD WORK WEEKLY REPORT

Scheduled roadwork for the week beginning April 3, 2005, for the Department of Design & construction, Civil Division (Construction Management Branch), and Wastewater Division (Construction Management Branch).  Roadwork is normally done between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

AINA HAINA

Curb Ramps at West Hind Drive/Apo Drive/Nohu Street: Install pavement markings.

EWA

Ewa Villages, Extension of Kapolei Parkway, Phase 8A - Renton Road at future extension of Kapolei Parkway:  Construct new intersection including sewer, drainage, sidewalk, curb ramps, street lights, and landscape work.

HAWAII KAI

Curb Ramps at Lanipuao Street/Kaumakani Street, Kekupua Street/Kaumakani Street.  Install pavement markings.

HONOLULU

Rehabilitation of Streets, Unit 5B – Piikoi Street (King Street to Matlock Avenue):  Reconstruction and resurfacing of roadway, adjustment of utilities and permanent pavement markings.

Curb Ramps at Adams Lane/Bishop Street, Chaplain Lane/Nuuanu Avenue, Fort Street/S. Kukui Street, Queen Emma Square/Queen Emma Street/S. Kukui Street: Install pavement markings.

Miscellaneous Guardrail Improvements at Alewa Drive at Aulii Street: Install new guardrails.

Curb Ramps at Akoko Street/Cedar Street/South King Street, Artesian Street/South Beretania Street, Artesian Street/South King Street, South King Street/Elsie Lane, South Beretania Street/Farrington Street, Hauoli Street/South King Street, Hoawa Lane/South King Street, Kaheka Street/Rycroff Street,

Makiki Street/South Beretania Street, Pawaa Lane/South Beretania Street, Poha Lane/South King Street, South King Street/Elsie Lane/Punahou Street:  Install pavement markings.

Ala Wai Boulevard Improvements:  Landscape maintenance work.

Wheelchair Ramps at Keeaumoku Street and Nehoa Street, and Aala Street and Aala Place:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, AC transitions and traffic signal work.  Install striping and markers.

King Street Improvements, Phase 3 - North King Street between Liliha Street and Desha Lane and Austin Lane and Morris Lane:  Construction of concrete driveways, sidewalks, curb ramps, planting of trees; construction of street lighting system.  Pending revised scope of work.  Trees to be deleted.

Bridge Replacement at La’i Road Bridges Nos. 379 &380.  Remove existing wooden bridges and replace with new concrete bridges.

Punchbowl Street Improvements, Phase 2, Punchbowl Street between Ala Moana Boulevard and just beyond King Street:  Modify the traffic signals, streetlights, parking meters, traffic signs, pavement striping, marking and markers to accommodate two-way traffic; reconstruct the curb ramps, sidewalks, curbs, gutters and bus pads; upgrade the sewer and drainage systems; install tree wells, street trees and irrigation system; reconstruct the road pavement and resurface; adjust utility boxes, manholes and street monuments.

            (Estimated completion date, April 2005)

Rehabilitation of Streets – St. Louis Drive, Dole Street, Frank Street, Eugene Place, Alphonse Place, Robert Place, and Maigret Street:  Reconstruction and resurfacing of asphalt concrete roadways, installation of pavement markings, restoration of concrete curbs and gutters.

            (Estimated completion date, May 2005)

KAILUA

Kainehe, Hamakua, & Keolu Reconstructed Sewer: CIP work on Kainehe Street and Keolu Drive; Shaft Construction and Microtunneling on Hamakua Drive.

Kalaheo Avenue Reconstructed Sewer, from Kainui Drive to Dune Circle: Road Closure for work on sewerline will be Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  During non-work hours, one lane for northbound traffic along Kalaheo Avenue will be re-opened with the other lane closed as an on-site staging area for equipment.

Guardrail Improvements at Maunawili Road:  Install new guardrails.

KAIMUKI

Curb Ramps at Maunaloa Avenue/7^th Avenue, Maunaloa Avenue/Paahana Avenue: Demolish and remove existing pavements, curbs, gutters, sidewalks and other incidentals to install new work per plan.

Curb Ramps at 5th Avenue and H-1 Freeway and Harding Avenue:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks thru gutter, and AC transitions.  Relocate existing signs on new post.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pullboxes and loops, striping, marking and markers.

MOANALUA

Rehabilitation of Streets & Moanalua Water System Improvements:  Ala Aolani Place and portions of Ala Aolani Street, Ala Lani Street and Place, Ala Kiao Place, Ala Iolani Street and Place, Kapulei Street:  Installation of 4” and 8” water mains, reconstruction and resurfacing of roadways, adjustment of utility manholes, installation of pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, November 2005)

PEARL CITY

Pacific Palisades WWPS Access Road Emergency Repair: Emergency repair of bridge off of Lanikeha Place.

SALT LAKE

Salt Lake Boulevard Widening Phase 2A, Bougainville Drive to Maluna Street:  Upgrade roadway to include 2 additional lanes in each direction, with designated left and right turning lanes. Provide traffic controls, mass grading, temporary security fencing and electrical overhead lines, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, curb ramps and property adjustments, including demolishing and reconstructing new structures and constructing new walls. Install detention basins, drainage, water, sewer, traffic signal, streetlights, underground electrical system, oil lines, gas lines, pavement striping, markings and markers, and traffic signs, irrigation and landscaping.

            (Estimated completion date, April 2005)

WAIPAHU

Village Park Connector Road: Construction of a two-way connector road between Kupuna Loop in Village Park and Loaa Street in Waipahu.  Work includes roadway grading, construction of roadways, sidewalks, curb ramps and CRM and CMU walls; and installation of water lines, drain lines, electrical lines, streetlights, irrigation lines and landscaping.
