ROAD WORK WEEKLY REPORT

 

Scheduled roadwork for the week beginning November 20, 2005, for the Department of Design & construction, Civil Division (Construction Management Branch), and Wastewater Division (Construction Management Branch).  Roadwork is normally done between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

 

EWA

Ewa Villages, Extension of Kapolei Parkway, Phase 8A - Renton Road at future extension of Kapolei Parkway:  Construct new intersection including sewer, drainage, sidewalk, curb ramps, street lights, and landscape work.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2005)

 

HALEIWA

Bridge Rehabilitation at Anahulu Stream:  Remove deteriorated concrete and reinforcement, reconstruct and repair areas, modify existing railings and paint structure.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2005)

 

HONOLULU

Rehabilitation of Harding Avenue from 1st Avenue to Luawai Street, 6th Avenue from Harding Avenue to Palolo Avenue, Leahi Avenue from Kapahulu Avenue to Noela Street, 5th Avenue from Harding Avenue to Dead End:  The work primarily consists of reconstruction, milling and resurfacing the roadways.  Also, included is the reconstruction of some concrete curbs, gutters, driveways, aprons, sidewalks, and some new drainage improvements.  Installation of pavements, markings, traffic sensors and adjustment of utility covers to grade will complete the project.

            (Estimated completion date, May 2006)

 

Kalaiopua Place Improvements:  Relocate utility poles, reconstruct roadway, install guardrail and resurface roadway.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2005)

 

Wheelchair Ramps at Keeaumoku Street and Nehoa Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, AC transitions and traffic signal work.  Install striping and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, November 2005)

 

King Street Improvements, Phase 3 - North King Street between Liliha Street and Desha Lane and Austin Lane and Morris Lane:  Construction of concrete driveways, sidewalks, curb ramps, planting of trees; construction of street lighting system.  Pending revised scope of work.  Trees to be deleted.

            (Estimated completion date, November 2005)

 

Guardrail improvements at Lai Road:  Install new metal guardrail and object marks.            (Estimated completion date, December 2005)

 

Curb Ramps at Liliha Street/Kuakini Street, Liliha Street/Kunawai Lane/Elena Street, Liliha Street/Borges Lane/Dayton Lane, Liliha Street/Bates Street, Nuuanu Avenue between Judd Street and Robinson Lane and Wyllie Street, Pacific Heights Road/Pauoa Road:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, AC transitions and driveways.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pull boxes, vehicle detector loops, striping, marking and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2005)

 

Rehabilitation of Various Streets, Palolo Valley--Orchid Street, Palolo Avenue to Jasmine Street, Ginger Street; Gardenia Street, Ginger St to Carlos Long; Myrthle Street, Carlos Long to End; Narcissus Street and Place:  Remedial work.

            (Estimated completion date, October 2005)

 

Punchbowl Street Improvements, Phase I:  Reconstruct curb ramps, update traffic signal system and restripe pavement markings at King Street & Beretania Street intersection.              (Estimated completion date, November 2005)

 

Rehabilitation of Streets St. Louis Drive, Dole Street, Frank Street, Eugene Place, Alphonse Place, and Robert Place:  Reconstruct concrete driveway, installation of signs and complete punchlist.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2005)

 

KAHALUU

Miscellaneous Guardrail Improvements Lihikai Drive and Lanani Drive:  Install new metal guardrail and object marks.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2005)

 

KAILUA

Kainehe, Hamakua, & Keolu Reconstructed Sewer: CIP work on Kainehe Street and Keolu Drive; Shaft Construction and Microtunneling on Hamakua Drive.

 

Kalaheo Avenue Reconstructed Sewer, from Kainui Drive to Kuulei Road: Road Closure for work on sewerline will be Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

KAIMUKI

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks in Kaimuki area - Harding Avenue, Pahoa Avenue, Kaimuki Avenue, Maunaloa Avenue, Kilauea Avenue, Maunalei Avenue, Lua Wai Place, Keanu Street, Pilialo Street, Ocean View Drive, Sunset Avenue, Pokole Street, 6th to 16th Avenue and 22nd Avenue:

Demolish and reconstruct existing sidewalks, driveway aprons, curbs and gutters.

            (Estimated completion date, November 2005)

 

KALIHI

Curb Ramps at Mokauea Street/Auiki Street, Mokauea Street/Hart Street, Mokauea Street/Kalani Street, Mokauea Street/Hau Street, Mokauea Street/Colburn Street, Dillingham Boulevard between Kalihi/McNeil Street, and Dillingham Boulevard between Alakawa/Kokea Street:  Construct new curb ramps and sidewalks.  Install pavement striping and markings.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2005)

 

MILILANI

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Mililani Area - Lanikuhana Avenue, Poiki Street., Poiki Place., Awiki Street., Opo Place, Kaukoe Street, Paionia Place, Keaolani Street, Awiwi Place, Kikalake Place, Kamaio Street, Aaahi Street, Meheula Parkway, Mahapili Street, Kauakapuu Loop, Hakianalia Place, Holanialii Street, Apele Street, Kikiula Loop, Mahinahou Street, Kamalei Street,  Waileia Place, Nui Street, Kealakaa Street, Ihuhanu Place, Kealohi Street, Makapipipi Street, Keehuiwa Street., Makohilani Street, Ukalalii Place, Puaahi Place, Hokulili Street:  Removal and reconstruction of damaged concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter areas; trimming of trees and cutting and removal of tree roots where the roots have damaged the areas; installing root barriers where required; and adjustment of utility boxes to new sidewalk grades.

Rehabilitation of Streets & Moanalua Water System Improvements:  Ala Aolani Place and portions of Ala Aolani Street, Ala Lani Street and Place, Ala Kiao Place, Ala Iolani Street and Place, Kapulei Street:  Install under drain, reconstruction and resurfacing of roadways, adjustment of utility manholes, installation of pavement markings.

NORTH SHORE

Curb Ramps at Various Locations, FY2002 (5) Akule Street/Aweoweo Street, Au Street/Aweoweo Street, Au Street/Apuhihi Street, Akule Street/Apuhihi Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, AC transitions.  Install striping, marking and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2005)

 

PEARL CITY

Rehabilitation of Waimano Home Road from Kamehameha Highway to Komo Mai Drive:  Install curb ramps and traffic signals relocation.  Reconstruct failed pavement areas and resurface roadways.  Install vehicle loop sensors, and pavement markings and adjust utilities to grade.

            (Estimated completion date, June 2006)

 

PORTLOCK

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Portlock Area:  Poipu Drive, Nawiliwili Street, Makaweli Street, Lawai Street, Lumahai Street, Lumahai Place, Hanapepe Loop, Hanapepe Place, Polihale Place, Kalalau Street, Waialae Avenue, Anahola Street.  Removal and reconstruction of damaged concrete sidewalk, curb, and gutter areas; trimming of trees and cutting and removal of tree roots where the roots have damaged the areas; installing root barriers where required; and adjustment of utility boxes to new sidewalk grades.

            (Estimated Completion Date, February 2006).

 

SALT LAKE

Salt Lake Boulevard Widening Phase 2A, Bougainville Drive to Maluna Street:  Final inspection punch list and change order work.

Village Park Connector Road: Construction of a two-way connector road between Kupuna Loop in Village Park and Loaa Street in Waipahu.  Work includes roadway grading, construction of roadways, sidewalks, curb ramps and CRM and CMU walls; and installation of water lines, drain lines, electrical lines, streetlights, irrigation lines and landscaping.
