ROAD WORK WEEKLY REPORT

 

Scheduled roadwork for the week beginning September 11, 2005, for the Department of Design & construction, Civil Division (Construction Management Branch), and Wastewater Division (Construction Management Branch).  Roadwork is normally done between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

 

AIEA

Curb Ramps at Heleconia Place and Moanalua Road:  Construct new curb ramps and sidewalks.  Install pavement striping and markings.  Adjust utility boxes to new grade.  Upgrade the traffic signal system.

EWA

Ewa Villages, Extension of Kapolei Parkway, Phase 8A - Renton Road at future extension of Kapolei Parkway:  Construct new intersection including sewer, drainage, sidewalk, curb ramps, street lights, and landscape work.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2005)

 

HALEIWA

Bridge Rehabilitation at Anahulu Stream:  Remove deteriorated concrete and reinforcement, reconstruct and repair areas, modify existing railings and paint structure.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2005)

 

HONOLULU

Kalaiopua Place Improvements:  Relocate utility poles, reconstruct roadway, install guardrail and resurface roadway.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2005)

 

King Street Improvements, Phase 3 - North King Street between Liliha Street and Desha Lane and Austin Lane and Morris Lane:  Construction of concrete driveways, sidewalks, curb ramps, planting of trees; construction of street lighting system.  Pending revised scope of work.  Trees to be deleted.

            (Estimated completion date, November 2005)

 

Bridge Replacement at La’i Road Bridges Nos. 379 &380.  Remove existing wooden bridges and replace with new concrete bridges.

Manoa Stream Bank Repairs: Emergency reconstruction of CRM stream wall at Manoa Stream adjacent to Koali Road.  Work includes demolition, excavation, dewatering, construction of new CRM wall, reconstruction of Koali Road, and repaving of Hokulani School parking lot.

            (Estimated completion date, September 2005)

 

Niu Valley Wastewater Pump Station Emergency Force Main Emergency Bypass: Installation of an emergency bypass pipe along Kalanianaole Highway between East Halemaumau Street and Pu’u’ikena Street.

            (Estimated completion date, October 2005)

 

Rehabilitation of Various Streets, Palolo Valley--Orchid Street, Palolo Avenue to Jasmine Street, Ginger Street; Gardenia Street, Ginger St to Carlos Long; Myrthle Street, Carlos Long to End; Narcissus Street and Place:  Reconstruct curbs, gutters and weakened roadway areas; mill roadway surface and pave; adjust utility manholes and install permanent pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, October 2005)

 

Punchbowl Street Improvements, Phase 2, Punchbowl Street between Ala Moana Boulevard and just beyond King Street:  Adjust utility manholes and install parking meters.

            (Estimated completion date, September 2005)

 

Spencer Street (Victoria Street to Wilder Avenue); Thurston Avenue (Victoria Street to Wilder Avenue): Sewer line relining with Cast in Place Liner. 

            (Estimated completion date, September 2005)

 

Rehabilitation of Streets – St. Louis Drive, Dole Street, Frank Street, Eugene Place, Alphonse Place, Robert Place, and Maigret Street:  Installation of pavement markings, adjustment of utilities to grade, reconstruct catch basins and complete punchlist.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2005)

 

KAHUKU

Rehabilitation of Streets, Unit 39 – Hospital Road, Makaiau Place, Pualalea Street, Place & Way, Pahelehala Loop, Huehu Street & Place, Kiu Place, Olauniu Place, Kahana Place, Keawemauhili Place, Alapa Place, Kekauoha Street, Maunuunu Street:  Reconstruct failed areas, mill & resurface asphalt pavement, adjust utilities to grade, install permanent striping and vehicle detector loops.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2005)

 

KAILUA

Kainehe, Hamakua, & Keolu Reconstructed Sewer: CIP work on Kainehe Street and Keolu Drive; Shaft Construction and Microtunneling on Hamakua Drive.

(Estimated completion date, September 2005)

 

Kalaheo Avenue Reconstructed Sewer, from Kainui Drive to Kuulei Road: Road Closure for work on sewerline will be Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

            (Estimated completion date, October 2006)

 

KAIMUKI

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks in Kaimuki area - Harding Avenue, Pahoa Avenue, Kaimuki Avenue, Maunaloa Avenue, Kilauea Avenue, Maunalei Avenue, Lua Wai Place, Keanu Street, Pilialo Street, Ocean View Drive, Sunset Avenue, Pokole Street, 6th to 16th Avenue and 22nd Avenue:

Demolish and reconstruct existing sidewalks, driveway aprons, curbs and gutters.

            (Estimated completion date, September 2005)

 

KALIHI

Curb ramps at Kalani Street and Waiakamilo Road:  Construct new curb ramps and sidewalks.  Install pavement striping and markings.  Upgrade the traffic signal system.  Adjust utility boxes to grade.  Relocate existing signs and posts.

            (Estimated completion date, September 2005)

 

MAKAKILO

Rehabilitation of Streets, Unit 31 – Makakilo Drive, H-1 Freeway to Ala Hoi Street:  Reconstruct curb/gutters & roadway.  Adjust utilities to grade, install vehicle loop sensors and permanent pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, September 2005)

 

MAPUNAPUNA

Curb Ramps at Mapunapuna Street and Pukoloa Street:  Construct new curb ramps and sidewalks.  Install pavement striping and markings.  Adjust utility boxes to new grade.  Upgrade the traffic signal system.

MILILANI

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Mililani Area - Lanikuhana Avenue, Poiki Street., Poiki Place., Awiki Street., Opo Place, Kaukoe Street, Paionia Place, Keaolani Street, Awiwi Place, Kikalake Place, Kamaio Street, Aaahi Street, Meheula Parkway, Mahapili Street, Kauakapuu Loop, Hakianalia Place, Holanialii Street, Apele Street, Kikiula Loop, Mahinahou Street, Kamalei Street,  Waileia Place, Nui Street, Kealakaa Street, Ihuhanu Place, Kealohi Street, Makapipipi Street, Keehuiwa Street., Makohilani Street, Ukalalii Place, Puaahi Place, Hokulili Street:  Removal and reconstruction of damaged concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter areas; trimming of trees and cutting and removal of tree roots where the roots have damaged the areas; installing root barriers where required; and adjustment of utility boxes to new sidewalk grades.

(Estimated Completion Date, November 2005)

 

MOANALUA

Rehabilitation of Streets & Moanalua Water System Improvements:  Ala Aolani Place and portions of Ala Aolani Street, Ala Lani Street and Place, Ala Kiao Place, Ala Iolani Street and Place, Kapulei Street:  Installation of 4” and 8” water mains, reconstruction and resurfacing of roadways, adjustment of utility manholes, installation of pavement markings.

            (Estimated completion date, November 2005)

 

SALT LAKE

Salt Lake Boulevard Widening Phase 2A, Bougainville Drive to Maluna Street: Upgrade roadway to include additional lanes in each direction, with designated left and right turning lanes. Provide traffic controls, and temporary security fencing.  Install sidewalks, curbs, gutters, curb ramps, property adjustments, streetlights, pavement striping, markings and markers, fencing, traffic signs, irrigation, landscaping and water meter.  Remove temporary traffic signal poles.

            (Estimated completion date, September 2005)

 

Curb Ramps at Kalaloa Street and Salt Lake Boulevard :  Construct new curb ramps and sidewalks.  Install pavement striping and markings.  Upgrade the traffic signal system.  Adjust utility boxes to new grade.

PUPUKEA

Rehabilitation of Pupukea Road:  Reconstruct failed areas, mill & resurface asphalt pavement, adjust utilities to grade, install permanent striping and vehicle detector loops.

Rehabilitation of Waialua Beach Road:  Reconstruct failed areas, mill & resurface asphalt pavement, adjust utilities to grade, install permanent striping and vehicle detector loops.

WAIKELE

Rehabilitation of Lumiaina Street, Kamehameha Highway to Paiwa Street; Paiwa Street, Lumiaina Street to H-1 Freeway:  Reconstruction of failed areas, mill and resurface asphalt payment.  Adjustment of utility to grade, install permanent pavement markings and vehicle detector loops.

WAIKIKI

Reconstruction of concrete sidewalks - Ala Wai Boulevard, Ainakea Way, Wai Nana Way, Hobron Lane, Lipeepee Street, Ena Road, Kaioo Drive, Paokalani Avenue, Kaneloa Road, Saratoga Road, Beach Walk, Lewers Street, Aloha Drive, Royal Hawaiian Avenue, Seaside Avenue, Nohonani Street, Walina Street, Kanekapolei Street, Kaiulani Avenue, Uluniu Avenue, Prince Edward Street, Koa Avenue, McCully Street, Liliuokalani Avenue, Kealohilani Avenue, Ohua Avenue, Kapili Street, Cleghorn Street, Kapuni Street, Kaiolu Street, Launiu Street, Kalaimoku Street, Olohana Street, Namahana Street, Kuamoo Street, Keoniana Street, Niu Street, and Helumoa Street:   Demolish and reconstruct existing sidewalks, driveway aprons, curbs and gutters.

Curb Ramps at Kamahao Pl./Kamahao St., Kaahumanu St./Oihana Pl./Kuahao Pl., Kaahele St./Moanalua Rd., Kilinoe St./Kaahele St., Kaahele St./Lulu St., Kaonohi St. at Moanalua Rd., Koauke St./Moanalua Rd./Pali Momi St., and Iho Pl./Palula Wy.:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, AC transitions and driveways.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pull boxes, vehicle loop detectors, striping, marking and markers.

WAIPAHU

Village Park Connector Road: Construction of a two-way connector road between Kupuna Loop in Village Park and Loaa Street in Waipahu.  Work includes roadway grading, construction of roadways, sidewalks, curb ramps and CRM and CMU walls; and installation of water lines, drain lines, electrical lines, streetlights, irrigation lines and landscaping.

            (Estimated completion date, October 2005)
