WORKFORCE JOB FAIR DRAWS RECORD NUMBER OF EMPLOYERS

A record 170-plus employers are participating in the WorkForce 2005 Job Fair, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at the Neal Blaisdell Center.

Recruiters from local businesses, national organizations, the military and government agencies will be on hand. Last year’s WorkForce Job Fair attracted 4,800 job seekers. An even larger turnout is expected for this year’s eighth annual WorkForce Job Fair.

General admission is two dollars. Students with valid school identification will be admitted for one dollar. Job seekers should dress for a job interview and take multiple copies of their resume and a positive attitude.

The WorkForce job fair is sponsored by the City’s Oahu Workforce Investment Board and Oahu WorkLinks, which is a consortium of the WorkHawaii Division of the City Department of Community Services, the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations’ Workforce Development Division Oahu Branch, the Honolulu Community Action Program and ALU LIKE Inc.
