EMERGENCY SHELTER OPENS IN LAIE

FOR FLOOD VICTIMS   

 

            The City and County of Honolulu and the American Red Cross have opened an emergency shelter on the Brigham Young University-Hawaii campus in Laie for persons displaced by flooding or evacuation.

            The shelter is located in the old BYUH gym off Naniloa Loop. Persons needing shelter may report there immediately.

            The Oahu Civil Defense Agency advises anyone who feels threatened by flooding or requires evacuation assistance to call 911.

            Civil Defense volunteers, police, fire and other City agencies are continuing to monitor today’s heavy rains and levels in Lake Wilson and various streams.
