 HANNEMANN TO HOLD EAST HONOLULU TOWN MEETING JULY 12

            The public is invited to attend an East Honolulu Town Meeting with Mayor Mufi Hannemann at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at the Kaiser High School cafeteria.

            Key members of the mayor’s cabinet and staff will attend meeting, which is being co-sponsored by state Senator Sam Slom, who represents the area. The event is being held to discuss topics of interest to the community from Aina Haina to Makapuu. Those topics include environmental and land-use issues such as the Niu Valley sewer project and proposed developments in the area.  The meeting will also include updates on transportation and parks and recreation issues.  

            “This is the next in what we hope will be a continuing series of sessions where we take City government to the people,” said Hannemann. “We can’t promise everyone who attends will leave with all of their questions answered, but we do hope to inform them and to learn from them as well.”
