MAYOR HANNEMANN’S NEW YEAR MESSAGE

We greet the New Year with a style unique to Hawaii.

Our ethnic traditions bring diversity and color to our celebrations like nowhere else.  But however we welcome the New Year in our homes, our festivities should give us a renewed appreciation of the many blessings that life in the islands has bestowed upon us.

So I hope you’ll take a moment at this time of the season to offer a prayer of thanksgiving for the enriching diversity of our lifestyle … to express your appreciation to family members for all that they do for us … to vow to make the best of every opportunity and to seek new horizons … and to share aloha with friend and stranger alike.

I welcome 2007 with gratitude, with hope, and with confidence in our future, together.
