FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 15, 2006 Release No. M-116-06 MAYOR NAMES CHUNG TO HEAD ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICE Mayor Mufi Hannemann has selected Ann H. Chung to be the director of the City’s Office of Economic Development. Chung is currently vice president for government and community affairs with the Hawaii Science & Technology Council, a technology industry trade and advocacy group. Her appointment takes effect on December 1. She replaces Jeanne Schultz, who is leaving the City post for family reasons. Chung has earned a reputation as the foremost advocate and lobbyist for “Ann is widely respected within tech circles as well as the halls of government, and we are pleased and fortunate to have her joining our team,” said Mayor Hannemann. Chung previously worked in California, as director of marketing for Thinque Systems Corp. and an accounts supervisor with Bozell Worldwide and Ogilvy & Mather.
