FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 24, 2006 Release M-86-06 MAYOR SCHEDULES WORKING SESSION AT POKAI BAY ON AUG. 5 Mayor Mufi Hannemann and his cabinet will join members of the Waianae community on Saturday, August 5, 2006, for a working gathering as the City begins its cleanup of beach parks on the Leeward Oahu coast. Volunteers will meet at 8 a.m. at What’s being billed as Na Hoaloha O Waianae Beach Park Cleanup Day is a prelude to the heavy maintenance the City will be performing on its “Rather than just hold a meeting, we are joining the Waianae community to plan and actually begin the work of sprucing up the parks,” said Mayor Hannemann. “We’ll be removing trash, painting and cleaning up the parks. “These parks are an important part of our Persons interested in helping should report to the Aloha Tent at Some preparatory work will actually take place at the park earlier in the week.
