CITY EXTENDS HOURS FOR GYMS AND POOLS DURING HOLIDAYS

            Mayor Mufi Hannemann today announced that most City gymnasiums and swimming pools will operate on extended schedules for general public use from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily during the public school recess, from December 21 to January 11. 

            “With thousands of school children on their holiday break, we’re extending the operating hours at Department of Parks and Recreation facilities to provide more recreational opportunities,” said Hannemann. “This is the first time the department is making this holiday adjustment, as part of our administration’s efforts to better serve the community.”

            Park facilities will be closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day.

            The following gyms and swimming pools will follow the extended-hours schedule:

East Honolulu:
