ROAD WORK WEEKLY REPORT

Scheduled roadwork for the week beginning June 18, 2006, for the Department of Design construction, Civil Division (Construction Management Branch), and Wastewater Division (Construction Management Branch).  Roadwork is normally done between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

ALEWA

Curb Ramps at Gulick Avenue/North School Street, Hala Drive/Makuahine Street, Hauiki Street/North School Street, Kino Street/North School Street, Linapuni Street/North School Street, Makuahine Street/North School Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pull boxes, vehicle detector loops, striping, marking and markers.

EWA

Ewa Villages, Extension of Kapolei Parkway, Phase 8A - Renton Road at future extension of Kapolei Parkway:  Construct new intersection including sewer, drainage, sidewalk, curb ramps, street lights, and landscape work.

Fort Weaver Road Manhole and Pipe Rehabilitation:  Rehabilitate the existing sewer line with CIPP along Fort Weaver Road from Renton Road to Geiger Road.

HALEIWA

Bridge Rehabilitation at Anahulu Stream:  Remove deteriorated concrete and reinforcement, reconstruct and repair areas, modify existing railings and paint structure.

Rehabilitation of Harding Avenue from 1st Avenue to Luawai Street, 6th Avenue from Harding Avenue to Palolo Avenue, Leahi Avenue from Kapahulu Avenue to Noela Street, 5th Avenue from Harding Avenue to Dead End:  Completing installation of pavements, markings, traffic sensors and adjustment of utility covers to grade.

King Street Improvements, Phase 3 - North King Street between Liliha Street and Desha Lane and Austin Lane and Morris Lane:  Construction of concrete driveways, sidewalks, curb ramps, planting of trees; construction of street lighting system.  Pending revised scope of work.  Trees to be deleted.

Punchbowl Street Improvements, Phase I – Reconstruct curb ramps, update traffic signal system and restripe pavement markings at King Street and Beretania Street intersection.

Curb Ramps at Hunakai Street between Pueo Street & Waialae Avenue:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

Curb Ramps at Kaneohe Bay Drive & Molo Street, Kailua Road & Oneawa Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

Kainehe, Hamakua, & Keolu Reconstructed Sewer: CIP work on Kainehe Street and Keolu Drive; Shaft Construction and Microtunneling on Hamakua Drive.

Kalaheo Avenue Reconstructed Sewer, from Kainui Drive to Kuulei Road: Road Closure for work on sewerline will be Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Kailua Area – Kuulei Road, Uluniu Street, Kainehe Street, Kailua Road, Hahani Street, Hoolai Street, Aulike Street: Removal and reconstruction of damaged concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter areas, trimming of trees and cutting and removal of tree roots where the roots have damaged the areas, installing root barriers were required, and adjustment of utility boxes to new sidewalk grades, and other incidental related work.

            (Estimated completion date, June 2006)

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Keolu Drive: The work involves the reconstruction of existing sidewalks, curbs and gutters and trimming of trees.

Rehabilitation of Streets – Meheula Parkway (Ainamakua Drive to Kaapehe Street), Ainamakua Drive (Makaikai Street to Ainamakua Drive) (2nd Int.), Makaikai Street (Ainamakua Drive to Ukuwai Street), Ukuwai Street (Makaikani Street to Ainamakua Drive), Kipapa Drive (Ikaloa Street (Honolulu end) to Kipapa Drive (near Kauamea Place),Kipapa Drive (Kaalolo Place to Lelewalo Street):  Roadway reconstruction, cold planning and resurfacing; construction of asphalt concrete and concrete bus pad; reconstruction of existing concrete curbs and/or gutters, tree trimming and rootpruning; adjustment of utility manholes frames and covers; pavement markings and vehicle dector loops.

PEARL CITY

Rehabilitation of Waimano Home Road from Kamehameha Highway to Komo Mai Drive:  Install curb ramps and traffic signals relocation.  Install vehicle loop sensors, and pavement markings and adjust utilities to grade.

PORTLOCK

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Portlock Area:  Poipu Drive, Nawiliwili Street, Makaweli Street, Lawai Street, Lumahai Street, Lumahai Place, Hanapepe Loop, Hanapepe Place, Polihale Place, Kalalau Street, Waialae Avenue, Anahola Street.  Removal and reconstruction of damaged concrete sidewalk, curb, and gutter areas; trimming of trees and cutting and removal of tree roots where the roots have damaged the areas; installing root barriers where required; and adjustment of utility boxes to new sidewalk grades.

SALT LAKE

Salt Lake Boulevard Widening Phase 2A, Bougainville Drive to Maluna Street:  Final inspection punch list and change order work.

WAIALUA

Waialua Beach Road Sidewalk Improvements, Phase II – Waialua Beach Road (between Goodale Avenue and Haleiwa Road):  Construct new sidewalks, curb ramps, bus stop and driveways.  Install new chain link fence, traffic signs and landscaping.

WAIPAHU

Village Park Connector Road: Construction of a two-way connector road between Kupuna Loop in Village Park and Loaa Street in Waipahu.  Work includes roadway grading, construction of roadways, sidewalks, curb ramps and CRM and CMU walls; and installation of water lines, drain lines, electrical lines, streetlights, irrigation lines and landscaping.
