ROAD WORK WEEKLY REPORT

 

Scheduled roadwork for the week beginning March 12, 2006, for the Department of Design construction, Civil Division (Construction Management Branch), and Wastewater Division (Construction Management Branch).  Roadwork is normally done between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

 

ALEWA

Curb Ramps at Gulick Avenue/North School Street, Hala Drive/Makuahine Street, Hauiki Street/North School Street, Kino Street/North School Street, Linapuni Street/North School Street, Makuahine Street/North School Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pull boxes, vehicle detector loops, striping, marking and markers.

EWA

Ewa Villages, Extension of Kapolei Parkway, Phase 8A - Renton Road at future extension of Kapolei Parkway:  Construct new intersection including sewer, drainage, sidewalk, curb ramps, street lights, and landscape work.

Fort Weaver Road Reconstructed Sewer Pohakupuna Road (from Poloula Place to Fort Weaver Road & Fort Weaver Road (from Pohakupuna Road to Nalomele Place)

            Estimated completion date, September 2006)

 

HALEIWA

Bridge Rehabilitation at Anahulu Stream:  Remove deteriorated concrete and reinforcement, reconstruct and repair areas, modify existing railings and paint structure.

HONOLULU

Curb Ramps at Alakea Street/Merchant Street, Alakea Street/Queen Street, Bethel Street/Merchant Street, Bishop Street/Merchant Street, Halekauwila Street/Mililani Street, Maunakea Street/North Kukui Street, Merchant Street/Richards Street, Mililani Street/Queen Street, North Kukui Street/Nuuanu Street, North Kukui/River Street, Pauahi Street/Nuuanu Avenue, Queen Street/Richards Street, Queen Emma Street/Vineyard Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, AC transitions.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pull boxes, vehicle detector loops, striping, marking and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, August 2006)

 

Emergency Repair of Beretania Street between Alakea Street and Bishop Street:  Reconstruct A.C. pavement and gutter along the two mauka lanes.  Work will be limited to Saturdays, weather permitting.

Rehabilitation of Harding Avenue from 1st Avenue to Luawai Street, 6th Avenue from Harding Avenue to Palolo Avenue, Leahi Avenue from Kapahulu Avenue to Noela Street, 5th Avenue from Harding Avenue to Dead End:  The work primarily consists of reconstruction, milling and resurfacing the roadways.  Also, included is the reconstruction of some concrete curbs, gutters, driveways, aprons, sidewalks, and some new drainage improvements.  Installation of pavements, markings, traffic sensors and adjustment of utility covers to grade will complete the project.

            (Estimated completion date, May 2006)

 

King Street Improvements, Phase 3 - North King Street between Liliha Street and Desha Lane and Austin Lane and Morris Lane:  Construction of concrete driveways, sidewalks, curb ramps, planting of trees; construction of street lighting system.  Pending revised scope of work.  Trees to be deleted.

            (Estimated completion date, March 2006)

 

Curb Ramps at Liliha Street/Kuakini Street and Liliha Street/Bates Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, AC transitions and driveways.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pull boxes, vehicle detector loops, striping, marking and markers.

KAILUA

Kainehe, Hamakua, & Keolu Reconstructed Sewer: CIP work on Kainehe Street and Keolu Drive; Shaft Construction and Microtunneling on Hamakua Drive.

 

Kalaheo Avenue Reconstructed Sewer, from Kainui Drive to Kuulei Road: Road Closure for work on sewerline will be Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Kailua Area Kuulei Road, Uluniu Street, Kainehe Street, Kailua Road, Hahani Street, Hoolai Street, Aulike Street: Removal and reconstruction of damaged concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter areas, trimming of trees and cutting and removal of tree roots where the roots have damaged the areas, installing root barriers were required, and adjustment of utility boxes to new sidewalk grades, and other incidental related work.

            (Estimated completion date, May 2006

 

KALIHI

Curb Ramps at Kalihi Street/Lehua Street, Kalihi Street/Kuikele Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transitions.  Install pedestrian push buttons and striping.

            (Estimated completion date, August 2006)

 

KANEOHE

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Kaneohe Area: Alaloa Street, Haiku Road, Kahuhipa Street, Kamehameha Highway, Kawa Street, Mehana Street:  Removal and reconstruction of damaged concrete sidewalk, curb, and gutter areas; trimming of trees and cutting and removal of tree roots where the roots have damaged the area; installing root barriers where required; and adjustment of utility boxes to new sidewalk grades.

MAKAKILO

Curb Ramps at Various Locations, FY 2002(5) Panama Street/Hame Street/Welo Street: Construct new curb ramps and AC transitions.

MILILANI

Curb Ramps at Hokuiwa Street/Kawau Street, Kaloapau Street/Kehepue Loop, Alapoai Street/Alapoai Place, Hokuala Street/Hokuili Street, Anania Drive/Puanane Loop, Anania Drive/Hakamoa Street, Anania Drive/Kiaha Loop, Anania Drive/Kaukalia Street, Anania Drive/Lanikuhana Ave, Anania Drive/Hokualii Street, Anania Drive/Kapuahi Street, Waihonu Street/Waimakua Drive, Waiehu Place/Waimakua Drive, Kipapa Drive/Moenamanu Street, Hookelewaa Street/Kipapa Drive:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, AC transitions and driveways.  Install striping, marking and markers.

MOANALUA

Rehabilitation of Streets & Moanalua Water System Improvements:  Ala Aolani Place and portions of Ala Aolani Street, Ala Lani Street and Place, Ala Kiao Place, Ala Iolani Street and Place, Kapulei Street:  Install under drain, reconstruction and resurfacing of roadways, adjustment of utility manholes, installation of pavement markings.

NORTH SHORE

Curb Ramps at Akule Street/Aweoweo Street, Au Street/Aweoweo Street, Au Street/Apuhihi Street, Akule Street/Apuhihi Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, AC transitions.  Install striping, marking and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, March 2006)

 

PEARL CITY

Rehabilitation of Waimano Home Road from Kamehameha Highway to Komo Mai Drive:  Install curb ramps and traffic signals relocation.  Reconstruct failed pavement areas and resurface roadways.  Install vehicle loop sensors, and pavement markings and adjust utilities to grade.

            (Estimated completion date, June 2006)

 

PORTLOCK

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Portlock Area:  Poipu Drive, Nawiliwili Street, Makaweli Street, Lawai Street, Lumahai Street, Lumahai Place, Hanapepe Loop, Hanapepe Place, Polihale Place, Kalalau Street, Waialae Avenue, Anahola Street.  Removal and reconstruction of damaged concrete sidewalk, curb, and gutter areas; trimming of trees and cutting and removal of tree roots where the roots have damaged the areas; installing root barriers where required; and adjustment of utility boxes to new sidewalk grades.

SALT LAKE

Salt Lake Boulevard Widening Phase 2A, Bougainville Drive to Maluna Street:  Final inspection punch list and change order work.

Curb Ramps at Ala Ilima Street/Ala Maile Place, Ala Ilima Street/Ala Nanala Street, Ala Nanala Street/Likini Street, Ala Ilima Street/Ala Melia Place, Ala Ilima Street/Ala Nanu Street, Ala Nanu Street/Likini Street, Ala Ilima Street/Ala Napuaa Place.  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, AC transitions and driveways.  Install pavement striping, marking and markers.

WAHIAWA

Curb Ramps at California Avenue/Kaalalo Place, Kilani Avenue/Mango Street, Kilani Avenue/Westervelt Street, Kilani Avenue/Lehua Street, California Avenue/Lehua Street/Muliwai Avenue, California Avenue/North Cane Street, Kilani Avenue/North Cane Street, California Avenue/Uuku Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, AC transitions and driveways.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pull boxes, vehicle detector loops, striping, marking and markers.

Rehabilitation of Waialua Beach Road:  Reconstruct bridge joint.

Curb Ramps at Kupahu Street/Nahoa Street:  Construct new curb ramps.  Install striping and markers.

Waialua Beach Road Sidewalk Improvements, Phase II Waialua Beach Road (between Goodale Avenue and Haleiwa Road):  Construct new sidewalks, curb ramps, bus stop and driveways.  Install new chain link fence, traffic signs and landscaping.

WAIMALU

Curb Ramps at Kamahao Pl./Kamahao St., Kaahumanu St./Oihana Pl./Kuahao Pl., Kaahele St./Moanalua Rd., Kilinoe St./Kaahele St., Kaahele St./Lulu St., Kaonohi St. at Moanalua Rd., Koauke St./Moanalua Rd./Pali Momi St., and Iho Pl./Palula Wy.:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, AC transitions and driveways.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pull boxes, vehicle loop detectors, striping, marking and markers.

WAIPAHU

Village Park Connector Road: Construction of a two-way connector road between Kupuna Loop in Village Park and Loaa Street in Waipahu.  Work includes roadway grading, construction of roadways, sidewalks, curb ramps and CRM and CMU walls; and installation of water lines, drain lines, electrical lines, streetlights, irrigation lines and landscaping.
