ROAD WORK WEEKLY REPORT

 

Scheduled roadwork for the week beginning May 14, 2006, for the Department of Design construction, Civil Division (Construction Management Branch), and Wastewater Division (Construction Management Branch).  Roadwork is normally done between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

 

ALEWA

Curb Ramps at Gulick Avenue/North School Street, Hala Drive/Makuahine Street, Hauiki Street/North School Street, Kino Street/North School Street, Linapuni Street/North School Street, Makuahine Street/North School Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pull boxes, vehicle detector loops, striping, marking and markers.

EWA

Ewa Villages, Extension of Kapolei Parkway, Phase 8A - Renton Road at future extension of Kapolei Parkway:  Construct new intersection including sewer, drainage, sidewalk, curb ramps, street lights, and landscape work.

HALEIWA

Bridge Rehabilitation at Anahulu Stream:  Remove deteriorated concrete and reinforcement, reconstruct and repair areas, modify existing railings and paint structure.

HAWAII KAI

Curb Ramps at West Hind Drive & Nenue Street, Ulua Street & Mamaki Street, Ulua Street & Mahimahi Street, Awini Street & Kawaihine Street, Pepeekeo Street & Pepeekeo Place, Ainapo Street & Pepeekeo Place, Pepeekeo Street & Driveway, Hahaione Street & Hawaii Kai Drive, Ehu Wai Place, Hawaii Kai Drive & Kaluanui Road, Hawaii Kai Drive & Wailua Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

Curb Ramps at Bishop Street between South Hotel Street and South King Street, Kekaulike Street/North Hotel Street, North Hotel Street/River Street, South King Street/Ward Avenue, Cooke Street/South King Street, Auahi Street/Kamakee Street, Middle Street/Rose Street, Kahauiki Street/Middle Street, Kamehameha IV Road/School Street, Hihio Place/Kamehameha IV Road, Kamehameha IV Road/Kilolani Place, Kamehameha IV Road/Kilohi Street, Kamehameha IV Road/Aoao Street, Kamehameha IV Road/Kalena Drive, Kamehameha IV Road (mid-block), Horner Lane/Kaua Street, Kamehameha IV Road/Kino Street, Campbell Avenue/Herbert Street, Campbell Avenue/Castle Street, Campbell Avenue/Brokaw Street, Campbell Avenue/Catherine Street, Campbell Avenue/Kaunaoa Street, Kanaina Avenue/Kaunaoa Street, Campbell Avenue/Esther Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and AC transition.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pull boxes, vehicle detector loops, striping, marking and markers.

Rehabilitation of Harding Avenue from 1st Avenue to Luawai Street, 6th Avenue from Harding Avenue to Palolo Avenue, Leahi Avenue from Kapahulu Avenue to Noela Street, 5th Avenue from Harding Avenue to Dead End:  The work primarily consists of reconstruction, milling and resurfacing the roadways.  Also, included is the reconstruction of some concrete curbs, gutters, driveways, aprons, sidewalks, and some new drainage improvements.  Installation of pavements, markings, traffic sensors and adjustment of utility covers to grade will complete the project.

            (Estimated completion date, May 2006)

 

King Street Improvements, Phase 3 - North King Street between Liliha Street and Desha Lane and Austin Lane and Morris Lane:  Construction of concrete driveways, sidewalks, curb ramps, planting of trees; construction of street lighting system.  Pending revised scope of work.  Trees to be deleted.

            (Estimated completion date, April 2006)

 

Punchbowl Street Improvements, Phase I Reconstruct curb ramps, update traffic signal system and restripe pavement markings at King Street and Beretania Street intersection.

            (Estimated completion date, May 2006)

 

KAHALA

Curb Ramps at Hunakai Street between Pueo Street & Waialae Avenue:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

KAILUA

Curb Ramps at Kaneohe Bay Drive & Molo Street, Kailua Road & Oneawa Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

Kainehe, Hamakua, & Keolu Reconstructed Sewer: CIP work on Kainehe Street and Keolu Drive; Shaft Construction and Microtunneling on Hamakua Drive.

 

Kalaheo Avenue Reconstructed Sewer, from Kainui Drive to Kuulei Road: Road Closure for work on sewerline will be Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

            (Estimated completion date, October 2006)

 

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Kailua Area Kuulei Road, Uluniu Street, Kainehe Street, Kailua Road, Hahani Street, Hoolai Street, Aulike Street: Removal and reconstruction of damaged concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter areas, trimming of trees and cutting and removal of tree roots where the roots have damaged the areas, installing root barriers were required, and adjustment of utility boxes to new sidewalk grades, and other incidental related work.

            (Estimated completion date, May 2006)

 

KAIMUKI

Curb Ramps at 16th Avenue & Waialae Avenue:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers and upgrade traffic signal system.

KAKAAKO

Curb Ramps at South Street & Kawaiahao Street, Ward Street & HECO driveway:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

Curb Ramps at Kalihi Street/Lehua Street, Kalihi Street/Kuikele Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transitions.  Install pedestrian push buttons and striping.

Curb Ramps at Date Street & Hausten Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

Curb Ramps at Anianiku Street & Auwaiolimu Street, Lewalani Drive, Mott-Smith Drive & Piikoi Street, Wilder Avenue & Kewalo Street, Wilder Avenue & Keeaumoku Street, Wilder Avenue & Makiki Street, Punahou Street & Wilder Avenue, Punahou Street & Clark Street, Punahou Street, Manoa Road & Nehoa Street, Wilder Street & Alexander Street, Wilder Street, Farrington Street & Metcalf Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers and upgrade traffic signal system.

MOANALUA

Rehabilitation of Streets & Moanalua Water System Improvements:  Ala Aolani Place and portions of Ala Aolani Street, Ala Lani Street and Place, Ala Kiao Place, Ala Iolani Street and Place, Kapulei Street:  Install under drain, reconstruction and resurfacing of roadways, adjustment of utility manholes, installation of pavement markings.

PEARL CITY

Rehabilitation of Waimano Home Road from Kamehameha Highway to Komo Mai Drive:  Install curb ramps and traffic signals relocation.  Reconstruct failed pavement areas and resurface roadways.  Install vehicle loop sensors, and pavement markings and adjust utilities to grade.

            (Estimated completion date, June 2006)

 

PORTLOCK

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Portlock Area:  Poipu Drive, Nawiliwili Street, Makaweli Street, Lawai Street, Lumahai Street, Lumahai Place, Hanapepe Loop, Hanapepe Place, Polihale Place, Kalalau Street, Waialae Avenue, Anahola Street.  Removal and reconstruction of damaged concrete sidewalk, curb, and gutter areas; trimming of trees and cutting and removal of tree roots where the roots have damaged the areas; installing root barriers where required; and adjustment of utility boxes to new sidewalk grades.

SALT LAKE

Salt Lake Boulevard Widening Phase 2A, Bougainville Drive to Maluna Street:  Final inspection punch list and change order work.

WAIALUA

Rehabilitation of Waialua Beach Road:  Reconstruct bridge joint.

Waialua Beach Road Sidewalk Improvements, Phase II Waialua Beach Road (between Goodale Avenue and Haleiwa Road):  Construct new sidewalks, curb ramps, bus stop and driveways.  Install new chain link fence, traffic signs and landscaping.

WAIPAHU

Village Park Connector Road: Construction of a two-way connector road between Kupuna Loop in Village Park and Loaa Street in Waipahu.  Work includes roadway grading, construction of roadways, sidewalks, curb ramps and CRM and CMU walls; and installation of water lines, drain lines, electrical lines, streetlights, irrigation lines and landscaping.
