ROAD WORK WEEKLY REPORT

 

Scheduled road work for the week beginning December 3, 2006, for the Department of Design construction, Civil Division (Construction Management Branch), and Wastewater Division (Construction Management Branch) is listed below.  Road work is normally done between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

 

AIEA

Miscellaneous Guardrail Improvements, FY 2005 - 99-274 Aiea Heights Drive:  Work includes metal guardrails, concrete, asphalt concrete pavement, concrete rubble masonry, and other incidental related work.

            (Estimated completion date, April 2007)

 

Kaonohi Street / Moanalua Road Intersection Improvements:  Work includes additional left turn lanes from Kaonohi Street to Moanalua Road, both directions; adding dedicated right turn lanes on Moanalua Road to Kaonohi Street, both directions; retrofitting countdown pedestrian signal heads; adding emergency vehicle preemption (EVP) detectors; installing new mast arms with standards and traffic signal heads for the traffic signal system; constructing a raised concrete median with chain link fence on Kaonohi Street Makai; pavement markings.  Traffic sign punch-list work will be done.

(No work will be done on the project from December 18, 2006 through January 1, 2007.)

EWA

Fort Weaver Road Manhole and Pipe Rehabilitation:  Rehabilitate the existing sewer line with CIPP along Fort Weaver Road from Renton Road to Geiger Road.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

HALEIWA

Miscellaneous Guardrail Improvements Haleiwa Road: Work includes metal guardrails, concrete, asphalt concrete pavement, concrete rubble masonry and other incidental related work.

            (Estimated completion date, April 2007)

 

HAWAII KAI

Curb Ramps at West Hind Drive & Nenue Street, Ulua Street & Mamaki Street, Ulua Street & Mahimahi Street, Awini Street & Kawaihine Street, Pepeekeo Street & Pepeekeo Place, Ainapo Street & Pepeekeo Place, Pepeekeo Street & Driveway, Hahaione Street & Hawaii Kai Drive, Ehu Wai Place, Hawaii Kai Drive & Kaluanui Road, Hawaii Kai Drive & Wailua Street:  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

HONOLULU

Rehabilitation of Streets, Unit 5A, Beretania Street from N. King St. to Alapai St.  Install catch basins and drainpipe between Lisbon Street & Lauhala Street.

Curb Ramps at Bishop Street between South Hotel Street and South King Street, Kekaulike Street/North Hotel Street, North Hotel Street/River Street, South King Street/Ward Avenue, Cooke Street/South King Street, Auahi Street/Kamakee Street, Middle Street/Rose Street, Kahauiki Street/Middle Street, Kamehameha IV Road/School Street, Hihio Place/Kamehameha IV Road, Kamehameha IV Road/Kilolani Place, Kamehameha IV Road/Kilohi Street, Kamehameha IV Road/Aoao Street, Kamehameha IV Road/Kalena Drive, Kamehameha IV Road (mid-block), Horner Lane/Kaua Street, Kamehameha IV Road/Kino Street, Campbell Avenue/Herbert Street, Campbell Avenue/Castle Street, Campbell Avenue/Brokaw Street, Campbell Avenue/Catherine Street, Campbell Avenue/Kaunaoa Street, Kanaina Avenue/Kaunaoa Street, Campbell Avenue/Esther Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and AC transition.  Install pedestrian push buttons, pull boxes, vehicle detector loops, striping, marking and markers.

Fort St. Mall & Hotel Street Sewer Replacement/Rehabilitation:  Sewer line replacement and CIPP work along Hotel Street between Bethel Street and Bishop Street.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006

 

Rehabilitation of Harding Avenue from 1st Avenue to Luawai Street, 6th Avenue from Harding Avenue to Palolo Avenue, Leahi Avenue from Kapahulu Avenue to Noela Street, 5th Avenue from Harding Avenue to Dead End:  Installation of additional arrows at 6th Avenue and Waialae Avenue.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

King Street Improvements, Phase 3 - North King Street between Liliha Street and Desha Lane and Austin Lane and Morris Lane:  Construction of concrete driveways, sidewalks, curb ramps, planting of trees; construction of street lighting system.  Pending revised scope of work.  Trees to be deleted.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

Kuahea Street Interim Roadway Repair, Kuahea Street from Waiomao Road to Kuahea Place.  Repair damaged section of asphalt concrete and portland cement concrete pavement.  The project also includes repairing cracks and reconstructing concrete curbs.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

Curb Ramps at Lowrey Avenue/Kaloauiki Place, Lowrey Avenue/Kanu Street, Woodlawn Drive near Manoa Stream: Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, AC transitions.  Install pavement striping, adjust utility boxes, and relocate street signs and posts.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

School Street Emergency Drain Replacement – School Street between Frog Lane and Liliha Street:  Remove and reconstruct existing damaged drainline, construct new catch basins, reset curbs, reconstruct sidewalks, driveways and thru gutters; restore asphalt pavement and markings.

(Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

Rehabilitation of Various Streets, Unit 37 –South King Street between McCully Street and Old Waialae Road, East/West Hind Drive, Luinakoa Street, Kirkwood Place, Kupaua Place.  Reconstruction, cold milling and resurfacing of asphalt roadway; construction of concrete bus pads; reconstruction of curbs and gutters; adjustment of utilities to grade; installation of pavement markings and vehicle loop detectors.  Night paving of South King Street, from McCully Street to Old Waialae Road, begins October 16, 2006, Sunday to Friday, 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

            (Estimated completion date, May 2007)

 

KAHALA

Curb Ramps at Hunakai Street between Pueo Street and Waialae Avenue:  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

KAILUA

Curb Ramps at Kaneohe Bay Drive and Molo Street, Kailua Road and Oneawa Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

Kalaheo Avenue Reconstructed Sewer, from Kainui Drive to Kuulei Road: Road Closure for work on sewerline will be Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Kailua Area – Kuulei Road, Uluniu Street, Kainehe Street, Kailua Road, Hahani Street, Hoolai Street, Aulike Street: Removal and reconstruction of damaged concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter areas, trimming of trees and cutting and removal of tree roots where the roots have damaged the areas, installing root barriers were required, and adjustment of utility boxes to new sidewalk grades, and other incidental related work.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Keolu Drive: The work involves the reconstruction of existing sidewalks, curbs and gutters and trimming of trees.

            (Estimated completion date, January 2007)

 

KAIMUKI

Curb Ramps at 16th Avenue and Waialae Avenue:  Install pavement striping, markings and markers and upgrade traffic signal system.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

Pooleka Street Drainage Improvements – Pooleka Street to Waiomao Stream: Construct new drainage system.  Upgrade the existing water system and restore existing driveway.

            (Estimated completion date, February 2007)

 

KAKAAKO

Curb Ramps at South Street and Kawaiahao Street, Ward Street and HECO driveway:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

KANEOHE

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Kaneohe Area: Alaloa Street, Haiku Road, Kahuhipa Street, Kamehameha Highway, Kawa Street, Mehana Street:  Removal and reconstruction of damaged concrete sidewalk, curb, and gutter areas; trimming of trees and cutting and removal of tree roots where the roots have damaged the area; installing root barriers where required; and adjustment of utility boxes to new sidewalk grades.

KAPAHULU

Curb Ramps at Date Street & Hausten Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

MAKIKI

Curb Ramps at Anianiku Street and Auwaiolimu Street, Lewalani Drive, Mott-Smith Drive & Piikoi Street, Wilder Avenue and Kewalo Street, Wilder Avenue and Keeaumoku Street, Wilder Avenue and Makiki Street, Punahou Street and Wilder Avenue, Punahou Street and Clark Street, Punahou Street, Manoa Road and Nehoa Street, Wilder Street and Alexander Street, Wilder Street, Farrington Street and Metcalf Street:  Install pavement striping, markings and markers and upgrade traffic signal system.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

MANOA

Manoa Stream Emergency Repairs at East Manoa Road Bridge:  Repair damaged sections of the concrete invert slab.

            (Estimated completion date, January 2007)

 

MILILANI

Rehabilitation of Streets - Lanikuhana Avenue, Meheula Parkway (East Int.) to Ahiku Street.  Roadway reconstruction, cold planning and resurfacing; construction of asphalt concrete and concrete bus pad; reconstruction of existing concrete curbs and/or gutters, tree trimming and rootpruning; adjustment of utility manholes frames and covers; pavement markings and vehicle detector loops.

            (Estimated completion date, January 2007)

 

Rehabilitation of Streets – Meheula Parkway (Ainamakua Drive to Kaapehe Street), Ainamakua Drive (Makaikai Street to Ainamakua Drive) (2nd Int.), Makaikai Street (Ainamakua Drive to Ukuwai Street), Ukuwai Street (Makaikani Street to Ainamakua Drive), Kipapa Drive (Ikaloa Street (Honolulu end) to Kipapa Drive (near Kauamea Place),Kipapa Drive (Kaalolo Place to Lelewalo Street): Work complete awaiting final inspection and acceptance.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

SALT LAKE

Salt Lake Boulevard Widening Phase 2A, Bougainville Drive to Maluna Street:  Final inspection punch list and landscape maintenance.

            (Estimated completion date, July 2007)

 

WAIALUA

Waialua Beach Road Sidewalk Improvements, Phase II – Waialua Beach Road (between Goodale Avenue and Haleiwa Road):  Construct new sidewalks, curb ramps, bus stop and driveways.  Install new chain link fence, traffic signs and landscaping.

            (Estimated completion date, December 2006)

 

WAIANAE

Hakimo Road Drainage Improvements, Hakimo Road and Ulehawa Street:  Construct and install new storm drain inlet structures, RC pipe, manholes, outlet structure, riprap and chain link fence.  Cold plan and repave existing A.C. pavement.

WAIMANALO

Miscellaneous guardrail improvements, FY 2005:  41-771 Kumuhau Street:  Work includes metal guardrails, concrete, asphalt concrete pavement, concrete rubble masonry, and other incidental related work.
