ROAD WORK WEEKLY REPORT

Scheduled road work for the week beginning October 15, 2006, for the Department of Design construction, Civil Division (Construction Management Branch), and Wastewater Division (Construction Management Branch) is listed below.  Road work is normally done between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

AIEA

Miscellaneous Guardrail Improvements, FY 2005 - 99-274 Aiea Heights Drive, 66-826 Haleiwa Road, 41-771 Kumuhau Street:  Work includes metal guardrails, concrete, asphalt concrete pavement, concrete rubble masonry, and other incidental related work.

EWA

Fort Weaver Road Manhole and Pipe Rehabilitation:  Rehabilitate the existing sewer line with CIPP along Fort Weaver Road from Renton Road to Geiger Road.

HALEIWA

Bridge Rehabilitation at Anahulu Stream: Remove deteriorated concrete and reinforcement, reconstruct and repair areas, modify existing railings seal and pave bridge deck, and paint structure.  Bridge to be closed for 7 to 10 days beginning October 16, 2006 in order to strip, prep, and reconstruct the concrete deck.

Curb Ramps at West Hind Drive & Nenue Street, Ulua Street & Mamaki Street, Ulua Street & Mahimahi Street, Awini Street & Kawaihine Street, Pepeekeo Street & Pepeekeo Place, Ainapo Street & Pepeekeo Place, Pepeekeo Street & Driveway, Hahaione Street & Hawaii Kai Drive, Ehu Wai Place, Hawaii Kai Drive & Kaluanui Road, Hawaii Kai Drive & Wailua Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

Fort St. Mall & Hotel Street Sewer Replacement/Rehabilitation:  Sewer line replacement and CIPP work along Hotel Street between Bethel Street and Bishop Street.

Rehabilitation of Harding Avenue from 1st Avenue to Luawai Street, 6th Avenue from Harding Avenue to Palolo Avenue, Leahi Avenue from Kapahulu Avenue to Noela Street, 5th Avenue from Harding Avenue to Dead End:  Installation of additional arrows at 6th Avenue and Waialae Avenue.

King Street Improvements, Phase 3 - North King Street between Liliha Street and Desha Lane and Austin Lane and Morris Lane:  Construction of concrete driveways, sidewalks, curb ramps, planting of trees; construction of street lighting system.  Pending revised scope of work.  Trees to be deleted.

Curb Ramps at Lowrey Avenue/Kaloauiki Place, Lowrey Avenue/Kanu Street, Woodlawn Drive near Manoa Stream: Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks, AC transitions.  Install pavement striping, adjust utility boxes, and relocate street signs and posts.

            (Estimated completion date, November 2006)

Rehabilitation of Various Streets, Unit 37 –South King Street between McCully Street and Old Waialae Road, East/West Hind Drive, Luinakoa Street, Kirkwood Place, Kupaua Place.  Reconstruction, cold milling and resurfacing of asphalt roadway; construction of concrete bus pads; reconstruction of curbs and gutters; adjustment of utilities to grade; installation of pavement markings and vehicle loop detectors.  Night paving of South King Street, from McCully Street to Old Waialae Road, begins October 16, 2006, Sunday to Friday, 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

KAHALA

Curb Ramps at Hunakai Street between Pueo Street and Waialae Avenue:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

Curb Ramps at Kaneohe Bay Drive and Molo Street, Kailua Road and Oneawa Street:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

Kalaheo Avenue Reconstructed Sewer, from Kainui Drive to Kuulei Road: Road Closure for work on sewerline will be Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Kailua Area – Kuulei Road, Uluniu Street, Kainehe Street, Kailua Road, Hahani Street, Hoolai Street, Aulike Street: Removal and reconstruction of damaged concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter areas, trimming of trees and cutting and removal of tree roots where the roots have damaged the areas, installing root barriers were required, and adjustment of utility boxes to new sidewalk grades, and other incidental related work.

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Keolu Drive: The work involves the reconstruction of existing sidewalks, curbs and gutters and trimming of trees.

KAIMUKI

Curb Ramps at 16th Avenue and Waialae Avenue:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers and upgrade traffic signal system.

Pooleka Street Drainage Improvements – Pooleka Street to Waiomao Stream: Construct new drainage system.  Upgrade the existing water system and restore existing driveway.

KAKAAKO

Curb Ramps at South Street and Kawaiahao Street, Ward Street and HECO driveway:  Construct new curb ramps, sidewalks and A.C. transition.  Install pavement striping, markings and markers.

Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalks, Kaneohe Area: Alaloa Street, Haiku Road, Kahuhipa Street, Kamehameha Highway, Kawa Street, Mehana Street:  Removal and reconstruction of damaged concrete sidewalk, curb, and gutter areas; trimming of trees and cutting and removal of tree roots where the roots have damaged the area; installing root barriers where required; and adjustment of utility boxes to new sidewalk grades.

MILILANI

Rehabilitation of Streets - Lanikuhana Avenue, Meheula Parkway (East Int.) to Ahiku Street.  Roadway reconstruction, cold planning and resurfacing; construction of asphalt concrete and concrete bus pad; reconstruction of existing concrete curbs and/or gutters, tree trimming and rootpruning; adjustment of utility manholes frames and covers; pavement markings and vehicle detector loops.

SALT LAKE

Salt Lake Boulevard Widening Phase 2A, Bougainville Drive to Maluna Street:  Final inspection punch list and landscape maintenance.

WAIALUA

Waialua Beach Road Sidewalk Improvements, Phase II – Waialua Beach Road (between Goodale Avenue and Haleiwa Road):  Construct new sidewalks, curb ramps, bus stop and driveways.  Install new chain link fence, traffic signs and landscaping.

WAIANAE

Hakimo Road Drainage Improvements, Hakimo Road and Ulehawa Street:  Construct and install new storm drain inlet structures, RC pipe, manholes, outlet structure, riprap and chain link fence.  Cold plan and repave existing A.C. pavement.
