DAMAGING WINDS FORCE PARK CLOSURES

     Due to the recent high winds on Oahu, Bellows Field Beach Park and the Waimanalo Bay Recreation Area Park sustained heavy damage to trees.  The potential for branches to fall exists. In the interest of public safety, both parks will be closed on a day-to-day basis until they are deemed safe for use.  City Departmetn of Parks and Recreation crews have been working extended hours trying to clear hanging tree branches and other debris to ensure theses popular parks are safe for the public’s use. 

     Bellows normally is open to the general public during weekends beginning at 12:00 noon on Fridays.  The Department of Parks and Recreation Permit Office will attempt to notify campers who hold permits for this weekend of the temporary closure. Further closings will be decided on a daily basis.  We apologize for any inconvenience.
