CITY’S 2008 EVERYDAY ENVIRONMENTAL HERO CALENDARS TO BE AVAILABLE FREE TO THE PUBLIC STARTING DECEMBER 3, 2007 Mayor Mufi Hannemann and the Storm Water Quality Branch of the City Department of Environmental Services, Division of Environmental Quality, are proud to announce the 2008 Everyday Environmental Hero calendar, in cooperation with the Hawaii Department of Transportation Highways Division. The 11-inch by 17-inch calendar features a stunning illustration by local artist Michael Furuya that incorporates the ahupua`a concept of managing storm water as it flows from the mountain to the sea. Also on the calendar are photos promoting the positive roles that local everyday environmental heroes can play in building awareness and changes in behavior to prevent water pollution.
The calendars will be available starting December 3, 2007, at all Satellite City Halls, City departments, DOT Highways at Winners of the 2008 Everyday Environmental Hero Photo Essay Contest will be in the 2009 calendar.
