CITY TO CLEAN NANI KAI SECTION OF Mayor Mufi Hannemann announced today that the Department of Parks and Recreation will return to the
“We are responding to the many requests from residents to make this our next priority in our parks improvement program,” Mayor Hannemann said. “We want to notify the community in advance so that everyone involved will be ready for this major undertaking.” The work at The Department of Parks and Recreation crews will concentrate their efforts on a thorough cleaning of the park’s comfort station and the replacement of bathroom fixtures if necessary. Repairs will be made to picnic tables, park benches and irrigation systems. The park’s parking lot will be swept and re-striped. Parking lot curbs, picnic tables and the comfort station will all be painted. Crews will also make landscaping improvements. “We appreciate in advance the cooperation of the community,” Hannemann said. “Nani Kai is actually one of our newer city parks. With proper attention to maintenance, we hope to keep it clean and looking new for some time to come.”
