AGENCY’S RESPONSE TO

AUDIT OF TENNIS COMPLEX CONSTRUCTION

            Eugene Lee, director of the City’s Department of Design and Construction, today issued the following statement regarding the City Auditor’s report on the Central Oahu Regional Park tennis complex:

            “The auditor’s conclusions and recommendations were devoted almost entirely to certain construction-related procurement and fiscal management policies of the previous City administration, which is when the tennis complex project was initiated and constructed.

            “We generally agree with the recommendations made by the auditor.  The Hannemann administration is committed to complying with established City policies governing construction management and all applicable fiscal procedures, and will ensure that the outstanding issues are appropriately addressed.”
