TRANSIT SCOPING REPORT RELEASED

Report Contains Outline for Environmental Impact Statement

          The Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project has completed its report on comments received during scoping meetings held earlier this year on the project’s proposed Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

The public was invited to comment on:

§       The purpose of the project and needs it will address;

§       The alternatives, including the technologies to be evaluated;

§       Alignments (routes) and termination points to be considered; and

§       The environmental, social, and economic impacts of the project to be analyzed.

          In response to comments received from the public and government agencies, the EIS will include three build alternatives – a fixed guideway route serving Salt Lake, a fixed guideway route serving Salt Lake and the Honolulu International Airport, and a fixed guideway route serving the Honolulu International Airport.
