Red Cross emergency shelter at Queen Liliuokalani Church closed but remains on alert for immediate activation


The American Red Cross emergency shelter opened last night at Queen Liliuokalani Church in Haleiwa has now been closed and all evacuees have returned to their homes.


The shelter, however, remains on alert status and ready for immediate activation should weather conditions deteriorate.


Oahu residents who are still in need of emergency shelter due to flooding and high winds can go to:


                 Waianae District Park

                 Brigham Young University Gymnasium - Kahuku


Emergency shelters at these locations are managed and operated by the American Red Cross. 


Additional shelters can be opened if needed.  If you have a flood related emergency or need  emergency sheltering call 9-1-1 immediately.
