City TO ACTIVATE LEFT-TURN SIGNAL IN Mayor Mufi Hannemann and City officials will activate tomorrow a left-turn signal to enable motorists heading makai on The left-turn signal will be activated Thursday, April 10, at 10:00 a.m. Mayor Hannemann said, “This is a safety priority of Hawaii Kai residents, given the number of near-misses involving motorists and pedestrians on this heavily traveled stretch of road. We’re pleased that the City was able to provide this improvement.” The cost of the project was $50,000. Work included cabling, a conduit, poles, and pedestrian push buttons.
