The Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts will offer a free concert by Na Hoku Hanohano recording artists in the Mission Memorial Auditorium on Saturday, November 8, at 2:00 p.m.

The “2008 Na Hoku Hanohano ‘Aha Mele” will feature performances by Hoku Zuttermeister, Maunalua, John Cruz, Pilioha, and Ku‘uipo Kumukahi and the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame Serenaders.

Mayor Mufi Hannemann said, “The City is delighted to work in partnership with the Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts to host this concert for the second year in a row. It is an opportunity for us to support our artists by sharing our civic space so they may present and perpetuate their music for the enjoyment of residents and visitors of Honolulu.”

Call the Hawaii Academy of Recording Artists, at 593-9424, to make a reservation or for more information. Seating is limited to 300 people and parking will be available in the Frank F. Fasi Municipal Parking Structure. No food or drinks are allowed in the auditorium.

Mission Memorial Auditorium is one of three distinctive red-brick buildings located on the Frank F. Fasi Civic Center grounds. The structures were built in 1916 as a tribute to the American Protestant mission to Hawaii.

The concert is supported by the Mayor’s Office of Culture and the Arts.
