PUBLIC MEETING ON NUUANU SEWER WORK

            The City’s Department of Design and Construction will hold a public meeting on the upcoming Nuuanu sewer project on Wednesday, June 18, at 7:00 p.m., in the Kawananakoa Middle School cafeteria.

            The City will be working on selected sewer lines in the upper and lower Nuuanu areas and sections of Liliha Street as part of a major program to rehabilitate Honolulu’s aging sewer system.  The work involves either replacing existing lines with new ones or performing in-place rehabilitation.  Replacement or upsizing of sewer lines will be done by conventional, open-cut trenching.  Temporary bypass sewer lines will be installed to maintain sewer services during the work.  The work will affect traffic, noise, and air quality.
