TIGER CUBS ON DISPLAY AND HONOLULU ZOO DIRECTOR NAMED Three recently-born Sumatran tiger cubs made their public debut at the Honolulu Zoo today. The three are boys, and have been named Malosi, Keahi and Tondi. They were born September 15th. Since that time, the cubs have been in the care of their mother, Chrissie, and zoo keepers. "We are happy to give this early Christmas present to the people of Mayor Hannemann also announced that Stephen Walker will become the Director of the Honolulu Zoo early next month. "We had 30 applicants for the Honolulu Zoo Director position, and that was very encouraging," said Director of Department of Services Sidney Quintal. "Steve Walker stood out in the areas of knowledge, experience, and most of all, the ability to manage. In short, he is well-qualified to take over the day-to-day operations of the Honolulu Zoo and help us move ahead with our mission and vision." |
