Toys for Tots Collection at Honolulu Hale

The City is partnering with Toys for Tots to receive new, unwrapped toys in the Honolulu Hale Courtyard from December 6 to 17, between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m.

Mayor Mufi Hannemann said, “Honolulu City Lights is a tradition that exemplifies the holiday spirit.  During this time of year, it’s always a pleasure to work with Toys for Tots and put smiles on so many children’s faces.  This is the season of giving and I encourage everyone to visit Honolulu Hale to enjoy the celebration and donate a toy to bring joy to local families in need.”

Star Wars Imperial Stormtroopers have also enlisted to support Toys for Tots.  Members of the Pacific Outpost–501st Legion of the Imperial Stormtroopers will appear in full costume on December 17 from 6 to 9 p.m.  The 501st Legion is a worldwide Star Wars costuming organization and Lucasfilm’s preferred Imperial costuming group.  Characters from the “Empire” will be available for photos with members of the public.

Since 1947, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots Program has fulfilled the wishes of millions of disadvantaged children during the holidays, reinforcing the joy and true meaning of Christmas giving and sharing.  Toys for Tots not only benefits children, but has a positive impact on communities, on businesses large and small, on the Marine Corps, and on the nation.
