Mayor Mufi Hannemann today extended his heartfelt appreciation to all American veterans who have served our nation in times of war and in peace, and he urged everyone to remember and honor their achievements and sacrifices this Veterans’ Day.


Honolulu has been blessed with having many distinguished veterans in our community who continue to make a difference in our society,” Mayor Hannemann said.  “The brave men and women who have made so many sacrifices to ensure the freedom and security of our great nation must never be forgotten.  I salute all our veterans, and I sincerely thank them for their service.”


Mayor Hannemann especially thanked the many men and women from Hawaii who are serving our country overseas, and prayed for their swift and safe return to their homes and families.
