CITY TO BEGIN $17 MILLION IN WILHELMINA RISE SEWER REPAIRS

The City will soon begin a major sewer repair and replacement project in the Wilhelmina Rise area, and has scheduled a March 25 public meeting to provide information to the community.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, in the cafeteria of Liliuokalani Elementary School, at 3633 Waialae Avenue.

The project will include replacement of approximately 600 lineal feet of defective sewer line by traditional excavation methods.

An additional 40,000 lineal feet of defective sewer line may be rehabilitated by installing a liner that will not require major excavation.

The work will affect various streets throughout Wilhelmina Rise at different stages of the project.

The work is expected to start in April and be completed within 30 months, at an estimated cost of $16,900,000.
