WINDWARD MALL SATELLITE CITY HALL CLOSING AUGUST 29

          The Windward Satellite City Hall located at Windward Mall Shopping Center will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 29.  The Satellite City Hall will reopen at Windward City Shopping Center on Kaneohe Bay Drive in November.  Area residents are encouraged to conduct business online, via mail or at the Kailua, Hawaii Kai and other Satellite City Hall offices during the relocation.

          Preparations at the new location are currently underway.  The new facility will equal and improve on floor space of the former site.  Workstations and counters from Windward Mall will be removed and refurbished in-house by the Department of Facilities Maintenance and installed at the new site.

          Windward office staff will be temporarily assigned to the Kailua, Ala Moana Center, Kalihi-Kapalama and Pearlridge Center Satellite City Hall offices in anticipation of an increase in demand at these sites.  The Windward Mall Satellite City Hall opened in June 2000 and this year marks the 35th anniversary of Oahu's Satellite City Halls.  All Satellite City Hall locations can be found at www.honolulu.gov/csd/satellite/.

          The Satellite City Hall relocation will not affect absentee voting, which is still being held in the area across from Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor at Windward Mall.
