ALIAMANU NO. 1 PUMP STATION OVERFLOWThe city's Department of Environmental Services responded to a wastewater overflow earlier this evening at one of its pump stations. A flow cable in the wet well at Aliamanu Pump Station No. 1 on Salt Lake Boulevard broke causing 13,000 of untreated wastewater to overflow into a storm drain, which empties into the Navy-Marine Golf Course Driving Range where it dissipated. The call came in at 6:43 p.m. and an ENV operator arrived at the pump station at 7:30 p.m. Pumps were manually turned on at 7:40 p.m., and the cable repaired shortly thereafter. The City notified the state Department of Health, and warning signs will be posted.
