CITY TO HOLD MEMORIAL TRIBUTE FOR BARBARA MARSHALL

Mayor Mufi Hannemann announced today that the City will hold a special memorial tribute for the late Council Chair Barbara Marshall.

“We encourage the public to attend this special tribute to an outstanding public servant,” Mayor Hannemann said.  “I will be joined by many of her colleagues on the Council, as we bid aloha to a dear colleague and friend.”

The service will be held Monday, March 16th at the city’s Mission Memorial Auditorium on the Fasi Civic Center grounds and will begin at 4:45 pm.   Members of the public are invited to attend.  Parking will be available in the city’s Civic Center parking garage.

Marshall died late last month after a long battle with cancer.  She was first elected to the Honolulu City Council in 2002, and was reelected to her seat in November, 2008.
