MAYOR HANNEMANN STATEMENT ON PASSAGE OF BILL 51
“I am pleased that Council Chair Todd Apo and a majority of the members of the City Council were able to see the big picture and make it possible for the City to take the necessary steps to establish a separate homeowner tax classification.
We are going to be facing a very challenging economic environment in the upcoming fiscal year, and we will need as many tools as possible at our disposal to balance the city budget.
I’m also pleased that a majority of the council voted to approve the City taking the next step to finalize the Environmental Impact Statement for the rail transit project through the passage of the resolution that authorizes the City to enter into a programmatic agreement with the Federal Transit Administration addressing impacts on historical resources
