Palama Adopt-A-Block/Stream Cleanup May 30 The City’s Storm Water Quality Branch of the Department of Environmental Services is holding an Adopt-A-Block/Stream cleanup Saturday, May 30, in Palama. The cleanup runs from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. covering ENV – partnering with numerous agencies, businesses, churches and public officials – will provide supplies, educational materials and T-shirts. Volunteers check in at the tent on the corner of Kanoa and Banyan and should wear a hat, old shoes, sunscreen and dress to get dirty. The event creates awareness of non-point source pollution and water quality issues; provides information on protecting our waters to specific audiences; encourages partnerships between citizens and local government; and motivates positive behavioral change to keep streams healthy.
