Soil Erosion Control Workshop January 31
The City’s Storm Water Quality Branch of the Department of Environmental Services is teaming up with Hui Ku Maoli Ola to conduct a workshop for soil erosion for homeowners and educators Saturday, January 31, from 9-11 a.m. at the Hui Ku Maoli Ola nursery in
The workshop is free to all who are interested in becoming better stewards of the environment.
In the first hour, participants will learn about storm water management at home, Adopt-A-Stream volunteer opportunities and the use of native plants for soil erosion control.
The final hour offers a native Hawaiian garden tour to see techniques in action using native plants appropriate for various ecosystems, including advice on soil erosion best management practices.
The workshop is limited to 50 and participants who will have a chance for a native Hawaiian plant basket and chipper/shredder during a random drawing. For more information or to register, call 780-8872 or 259-7777.
