“I’m happy to report that the Fasi family has taken me up on my offer to hold a memorial service for Mayor Fasi at Honolulu Hale,” Hannemann said. “We want to provide a fitting tribute to Mayor Fasi, who left such a lasting imprint on our City.  We’re working closely with the Fasi ohana to make sure this memorial program meets with their wishes.”

Planning with the Fasi family continues, and details of the memorial service are still being finalized.

Mayor Hannemann has ordered flags at all City & County of Honolulu building to be flown at half-staff through the conclusion of the memorial service to honor the memory of Mayor Fasi.  In addition, black bunting has been draped across the main entrance to Honolulu Hale to signify the City in mourning.  Mayor Hannemann has also placed the flag of the Mayor of the City & County of Honolulu with a black ribbon attached outside the entrance to the Mayor’s office on the third floor of Honolulu Hale.  The flag will also be on display through the memorial service.
