MAYOR ANNOUNCES FORUM ON HOMELESSNESS SET FOR TUESDAY

(Fri., June 25, 2010)—Mayor Mufi Hannemann today announced that the City and County of Honolulu will hold a special Forum on Homelessness on Tuesday, June 29, from 4:30 to 7 pm at the Mission Memorial Auditorium (530 South King St., beside Honolulu Hale). The public is invited.

            “Homelessness is a difficult issue that affects all of us, and we must continue to work together to address it,” Hannemann said.

            The forum will include a comprehensive overview of the complexities, challenges and services available to help address homelessness on Oahu. The city’s latest homelessness Point in Time Count Report will also be released. Various public officials, service providers, civic organizations and volunteers are expected to attend.

            Attendance is free, but RSVPs are encouraged by noon on Monday, June 28.

            Free parking will be available in the Fasi Municipal Building parking lot (1100 Alapai St.).
