MAYOR’S MONTHLY ART CALENDAR IS GOING GREEN

(Tues., March 23, 2010)—Mayor Mufi Hannemann is encouraging everyone interested in special events, art exhibits and other activities organized by the Mayor’s Office of Culture and the Arts (MOCA) to sign up and receive a monthly calendar of events via e-mail. Each month, subscribers will be among the first to know about art and cultural events taking place at Honolulu Hale, Kapolei Hale and the Mission Memorial Auditorium.

“MOCA’s E-calendar is part of our ongoing effort to support culture and the arts in Honolulu,” Hannemann said. “By making the calendar available online, we help uphold the principles of our 21st Century Ahupua’a initiative by reducing the amount of paper used for printing.”

MOCA’s E-calendar is currently sent to more than 5,000 individuals and organizations each month. It is an excellent resource for City-supported art exhibits, cultural performances, and community performances of interest to residents and visitors.

To subscribe to the E-calendar, visit www.honolulu.gov/moca/calendar.htm . For more information, call 768-6622 or e-mail moca-info@honolulu.gov.
