(Wed., Dec. 29, 2010)The City’s Department of Environmental Services reminds residents trash will not be picked up on New Year’s Day.

Communities that use the 3-cart collection system, with

once –a-week refuse and once-a-week recycling pickup, are asked to leave their gray carts curbside to be collected on Monday or Tuesday.  Please leave gray carts at the curb until it's serviced.

Recycling days that fall on Saturday will NOT be picked up, so hold mixed recyclables and green waste for the next scheduled pickup date.

If you are on twice-a-week refuse collection and your pickup day falls on New Year’s Day, please hold your items for the next scheduled pickup.

Also, all City Convenience Centers, Transfer Stations, H-POWER and Waimanalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill will be closed.  Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are the only two holidays refuse workers do not pick up trash.
