Outdoor Warning Sirens to be tested tomorrow 

The City Department of Emergency Management in conjunction with Hawaii State Civil Defense will be testing an outdoor siren warning system in the following area on Oahu tomorrow, June 23, 2010 from 8:30 AM until 11:00 AM.  The siren is located at: 

·        Upper Manoa Valley (near cemetery)

The tests are being conducted to ensure that the siren is operating at full power and providing optimal range. 

Residents and businesses in the surrounding communities may hear several 20-second siren soundings during the testing period.

Hawaii State Civil Defense funds the purchase and installation of these sirens.  Once they are installed, they are released to the City for monthly testing and emergency activation.
