Palama Adopt-A-Block/Stream Cleanup Saturday, June 26 (Thursday, June 24, 2010) – The Department of Environmental Services’ Storm Water Quality Branch is conducting an Adopt-A-Block cleanup Saturday, June 26, in Palama. The cleanup runs from 8:30-10:30 a.m. covering numerous streets in the Palama area. Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m. at the following locations: Banyan Courtyard, HonBlue and The event creates awareness of non-point source pollution and water quality issues; provides information on protecting our waters to specific audiences; encourages partnerships between citizens and local government; and motivates positive behavioral change to keep streams healthy. Volunteers must sign a release form at check-in.
