Palolo Adopt-A-Block Cleanup March 27

(Wednesday, March 24, 2010) – The Department of Environmental Services’ Stormwater Quality Branch is conducting an Adopt-A-Block cleanup Saturday, March 27, in Palolo.  The cleanup runs from 8:30-10:30 a.m. with check-in at Pukele Park

ENV – partnering with numerous agencies, businesses, churches and public officials – will provide supplies.  Volunteers should bring water, wear a hat, old shoes, sunscreen and dress to get dirty.  All participants must complete and turn in a release form, which can be downloaded at

The event creates awareness of non-point source pollution and water quality issues; provides information on protecting our waters to specific audiences; encourages partnerships between citizens and local government; and motivates positive behavioral change to keep streams healthy.

For more information on Adopt-A-Block/Stream activities, logon to or call Iwalani Sato, Stormwater Community Relations Specialist, at 768-3248.
