(Wed., February 17, 2010) --- The Department of Parks and Recreation announced today that maintenance and repair work will be conducted in a section of Ulehawa Beach Park during the last two weeks of March.
The Ulehawa Beach section, from the drainage channel to the area of 87- 1386 Farrington Highway, will be closed Sunday night, March 14 at 10:00 p.m. through Thursday, March 25, at 3:00 p.m.
“We are firmly committed to ensuring our public parks are clean and safe so that everyone can enjoy them,” said City Managing Director Kirk Caldwell.
Repair and maintenance work will include:

This is Phase 2 of the Ulehawa Beach improvements which began last fall with Phase 1 from Lualualei Depot Road to the drainage channel.
After Phase 2 has been completed, the entire Ulehawa Beach Park will be closed nightly from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Late-night park closure is in response to numerous requests from community members. This action was supported by the Nanakuli/Maili Neighborhood Board and the Board of Parks and Recreation.
