CITY AWARDS WAIMALU PHASE II SEWER PROJECT (Wednesday, July 14, 2010) – “We are fulfilling our promise to repair our long-neglected sewer system and waste water treatment plants with these major capital investments,” Hannemann said. “The money we collect in sewer fees goes exclusively to these projects, and we will continue to devote our resources to improving our infrastructure.” RMY Construction, Inc., the low bidder at $1,102,967, will begin construction in the next few months and is expected to take one year to complete. The design consultant is HDR/Hawaii Pacific Engineers, Inc. The project consists of installing 920 linear feet of 8-inch diameter PVC pipe and 309 linear feet of 12-inch PVC pipe. In addition, seven sewer manholes will be reconstructed.
