Oahu Impacted by Tsunami Waves
The City and County of Honolulu has been impacted by a tsunami. Be aware that inundation effects could continue for several hours. Do not go near coastal areas.
When safe to do so, emergency responders will assess the ocean and beach conditions to determine the extent of damage and dangers.
The official "All Clear" for the island of Oahu and the City and County of Honolulu will be issued exclusively by Mayor Peter Carlisle based on shoreline hazard information received from City responders. The "All Clear" message will be broadcast over TV and radio. There is no siren sounding for an "All Clear".
Following the "All Clear" broadcast residents may not be able to return to coastal areas for an extended period of time. Monitor TV and radio for important emergency information updates.
