GENERAL PLAN UPDATE MEETING ON JULY 7
(Tue., June 21, 2011)−The City and County of Honoluluís Department of Planning and Permitting (DPP) is initiating the review and update of the Oahu General Plan and announces a community meeting to present the projectís purpose and scope, discuss preliminary findings, and begin gathering community comments. Landowners, business owners, community organizations, and residents are invited to attend the meeting on Thursday, July 7 at the Mission Memorial Auditorium, at 550 South King Street. Registration starts at 5:15 p.m., and the meeting begins at 6 p.m.

The City has hired the planning firm Helber, Hastert and Fee to assist with this update. Information on the General Plan, research reports, summaries of current issues, and how to receive email notifications is available at http://honoluludpp.org/planning/OahuGenPlan.asp. The public can take an online survey, the results of which will be presented at the community meeting, and will also provide insight about issues related to the General Plan.
