ISLANDWIDE TOWN HALL MEETINGS SCHEDULED
REGARDING HONOLULU RAIL TRANSIT PROJECT
(Fri., Sept. 23, 2011) — The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) invites the public to a series of islandwide town hall meetings starting next week regarding the Honolulu Rail Transit Project.
HART will hold the first of five town hall meetings on Tuesday evening, September 27, in Kapolei. The public will be able to learn updated information and view informational displays about the rail project, as well as ask questions of HART representatives.
All five regional meetings will run from 6 to 8 p.m.:

The $5.3 billion rail transit project is a 20-mile elevated rail system connecting East Kapolei with Ala Moana Center. It includes 21 stations in communities including Waipahu, Pearl City, Aiea, Kalihi, Chinatown, Downtown Honolulu and Kakaako. There will also be rail stations at or near activity centers such as UH-West Oahu, Leeward Community College, Pearlridge, Aloha Stadium, and Honolulu Airport.
